As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety of employees, customers, carriers, and recipients, Universal Delivery Solutions (UDS) maintains a list of prohibited and restricted items. Customers must ensure that all shipments comply with UDS shipping terms, packaging standards, and applicable laws.

Prohibited vs Restricted Goods

Prohibited Goods

Items that cannot be accepted or transported by UDS or any partner carrier under any circumstance. If such items are shipped, the sender will be liable for all costs relating to secure disposal, recovery, or any resulting damages.

Restricted Goods

Items that may be accepted only with prior written approval from UDS and must comply fully with all packaging, labelling, and carrier-specific requirements.

Restricted Item Conditions

Restricted items may be shipped through the UDS network only if:

  • Written approval is obtained in advance.
  • Packaging and labelling comply with all Dangerous Goods in Limited Quantities and related regulations.

Compensation Exclusions

Any shipment containing a prohibited or restricted item is ineligible for compensation under the UDS Domestic Carrier Guide, available at https://www.udsww.com/servicedocumentation.
